Big News!

Now that it's official, I can tell you guys... or, rather, those who don't follow my facebook page...

Cory and I are moving...

To Austin, Texas!

Cory has family there and has visited a few times and loves the city, I was smitten with it after my recent trip last August, and I've been aching to get out of New England and out of the hellish winter for a little while.

Here's how it's going to go: Cory is leaving the 14th because he was hired for a job and needed to get out there ASAP. He'll be flying back on November 3rd, and we'll both be driving to Austin together. Unless I get hired beforehand (flying out for an interview next week, over my birthday weekend) in which case we'll have to reevaluate that plan.

It's going to be a crazy, crazy month, so if I don't blog much you know why. Going to participate in a Pepper Party this week for Divemex Peppers, but then my food-focus might not be so intense for a bit. Please bear with me during this
time! Any and all suggestions and support are most appreciated. I'll be moving thousands of miles away from home, and it's thrilling but also very scary since I've never lived more than two hours away from my friends and family. But I know it will be an incredible adventure, and I have an incredible man by my side.

Austin, all I have to say to you is this: bring on the food.*

*seriously guys, I can't even wait to have a diet entirely comprised of BBQ and tacos... AND AN IN-N-OUT JUST FOUR HOURS AWAY OMGGGG

  1. So very excited and happy for you, Ashley! You and Austin, with Cory, seem like the perfect fit! I'm jealous you'll be so close to "The Mother Ship" (Whole Foods). Austin is the ideal city for a food blogger to reside in, wouldn't you agree? Although I adore Indy, I knew that if I had attended BlogHer Food last June in Austin, I probably wouldn't want to come home! Thanks for sharing the BIG news! xo

  2. Yay! I always love moving to a new place! Congrats on this big change, I'm totally jealous of your future of tacos and BBQ.

  3. That's so exciting! I've never been to Austin but it sounds AMAZING! Feel free to holler with any and all moving questions...the husband is in the Air Force so we've had lots of practice :)

  4. Yay!! Congrats!! It's a very exciting time and I can only imagine how much fun u will have in Austin. I've visited twice when a cousin used to lived there. As far as moving a thousand miles from family goes, I've done it way too many times to count. It's hard but you have conquered the hardest part already...You have Cory!! You will do fine and your family will love visiting you in February when New England is bleeding white flurries.

  5. Wow! That all sounds exciting! Super jealous, I've been desperate for change for a while.

  6. What an exciting time! Congratulations and good luck with your interview!!
